Support for community development initiatives

EPIC Te Puke promote and/or facilitate community development initiatives.

When appropriate, we can assist as a voice for the community on engagement processes such as;

• Input into Community planning processes
• Input into Council planning processes
• Assist Council engagement processes where possible
• Engage with the community on issues of importance

EPIC Te Puke support the Western Bay of Plenty District Council Welcoming Communities project which aims to welcome newcomers to the District. Where appropriate we incorporate into our events and activities some measures designed to be welcoming to newcomers.

EPIC Te Puke support other events in the community at the direction of the Western Bay of Plenty District Council where possible, by sharing and promoting alternative district-wide events through our databases and networks (social/e-news/mail out etc.) See below our community events calendar initiative.

EPIC Te Puke support the promotion of the area’s history and culture. We can offer free profile listings to any historical or cultural group and assist their projects with tools to showcase their work both within the community and online. Where appropriate, we will incorporate historical or cultural concepts into our events and promotions.

EPIC Te Puke promote walkway and cycleway initiatives. We advocate for and promote the development of walkways and cycleways.

EPIC Te Puke support the Visitor Information Service with regular visits, and information sharing.

Community Event Calendar

EPIC Te Puke are developing further a community events calendar for Te Puke and the wider community to use, promote and share local events and activities.
